New to Humira!
Hi my name is Antoinette and I was newly diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in May. I started having abdomen pain in Dec of 2007 and In Jan they removed my gallbladder. Witch I now know didn’t need to come out at all. I had pain after the surgery and at the end of April found myself in the hospital because I was unable to hold down any foods or fluids and they gave me the diagnose of Crohn’s or colitis. I want to a local GI who did testing and started me on Pentasa and steroids. These didn’t work and I was in the hospital again at the end of May, no one at the hospital could answer my questions or tell me what was going on with me I was told to go online and do my own research and I lost it. I decided to go to the best of the best Mt. Sinai hospital the Crohn’s specialists in NYC. I was able to sit down with a doctor for an hour and half and he explained everything they know about crohn’s and treatment. He suggested I start Humira because I was on the severe end of the spectrum. I am up to my second dose and I feel 50% better I hope it only gets better from here.
